Do What’s Right in Your Heart

In life, we all have different paths and therefore different realities.

You never know what another person’s journey is all about.  

You can’t quite know for sure what they are supposed to do in this life, all you can do is continue to walk your path.

I did what was right in my heart, which drew others during the week to do what was right in their heart.

Much of the stuff was totally unpredictable when the week started, one of which was Assemblymen, Roy Frieman, stepping up to play an integral role in moving the issue forward and providing hope to so many people of New Jersey that were following our story.  

Roy proceeded to get a lot of heat and flack from some in the political world for helping me and us, but he did what he felt was right in his heart.  

I consider Roy a man of integrity and a friend.  And he can live in peace knowing that he followed his true north, his heart.  

Don’t judge a person for following their gut, their heart, even if you don’t agree with it.  Just as no one should judge you for following your heart.  

Remember, we aren’t physical beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.

The Best Advice Ever

When the kids are older, I hope I can  be a source of guidance and wisdom for them.  

I  know sometimes they will just need me to listen.

And I know other times, they will need a nudge.

The best advice I will ever be able to offer, without even knowing the circumstance, will be to simply begin.  Take action.  Take action towards your inner wisdom and gut feeling.

If you wait too long to begin, that inner spark of inspiration will be gone and you will  have missed your opportunity.   

Simply begin…..

Time to Get High On Your Own Supply

20 plus years ago, when I was a junior and senior in high school, I would work out before the school day started.

It was unusual at the time for a young high school kid to wake up and workout at that time but it made me feel good.

My mind would be on fire in a good way and I would enter the school day with a lot of confidence, which was big for me because I was a shy, introverted kid. 

I didn’t know then what I know now, but the reason I felt so good working out first thing was because there are certain growth factors and brain chemicals that can only get to your brain through physical movement.  

This is how you can get high on your own supply.  And better  yet, when it’s nice and sunny out, get out there and do some type of physical activity in the sunshine.  Vitamin D from the sun is potent as a feel good hormone when combined with physical activity (even when you are just exposed to sunlight you will feel better).  

 

Essentially, you are your own drug dealer.

4 Inner Beliefs To Develop During This Quarantine

As we near the end of this chaos (yes, it is coming to an end despite what the media wants to tell you), you still have time to learn and grow from ‘it’.

What Are You Doing With Your Down Time?

Each day this week I will be bringing one of the five areas of growth to get and learn from this situation.  Today’s topic is ‘down time’….

How many times have you wished that you just had more time in the day? 

How many times did you wish that you had more time to rest and rejuvenate?  To just chill and relax with the little moments of life?

Well, now you got it. 

So, what are you going to do with it?

It’s easy to let your work expand to fill the time you allow for it (Parkinson’s Law).  And if you aren’t used to being on your own schedule or working from home, it can be tricky. 

It took me quite some time when I resigned from teaching to figure it out. 

The initial disruption of this situation has come and gone.  Now you have to be diligent and disciplined with your time and energy.  When work is done, shut it down for the day. 

I know you have more time now because you have pretty much zero travel time. There’s no more commute, there’s no carting the kids around. 

 

Think about it, that is found time.  Time is the most valuable thing we have because you can never get it back. 

 

Use some of this new-found time to recharge your batteries.  Yes, enjoy a show here and there but don’t use it as an excuse to turn into Homer Simpson, as I said up top.  I’ve been seeing this happen to too many people. 

 

Get some more reading in, take a break from your phone.  Play some family games, get out in the sunshine midday. Treat yourself to a nighty show, there’s nothing wrong with that. 

 

But keep in mind that as humans we need rest, we need social interaction, we need sunlight and we need movement.  Schedule out your days and commit to these things each day. 

Treat them with importance. 

This too shall pass.  When it’s done, you are either going to say, ‘WTF!’, because you are more drained than when it all started in mid-March or you are going to feel fresh and ready to go.  In ways that you haven’t felt in years in some cases. 

If you never recharged your phone, it would die. 

Your batter is no different. 

Enjoy this time and create some memories with it.

1- The Fat Shredder is coming!  Realistically it’ll probably start at some point in the backside of May and run until the 4th of July weekend.  Here’s all you have to do for now: start thinking of your teammates. Each team will have at least a member, non-member and one woman (teams of 3).  It’s gonna be epic and just what we all need at that time:) 

 




How to Gain Clarity in an Uncertain Time

Most people go through life and have no idea how their brain actually operates.

Lucky for you, it is one of my areas of expertise, also known as Mind Mapping.

There are three things that cause the brain to go into ‘threat mode’.

When things are going too fast, too slow or when there is a lack of clarity.

In today’s lesson, I dive deep into it.  This was a powerful one and one that was sent out by some of our clients to their sales and business teams, nationwide.

Winners Do This..

Way back in 2007, while driving to and from my teaching gig, I would listen to audio cds.

 

In fact, as I write this, I am relistening to a lot of those CDs as I drive around town each week.

 

Well, one of the guys, Dan Kennedy, was fond of making a point about being able to ‘clear the calculator’ quickly.

 

We all have ‘bad things’ happen to us.  Call them setbacks or obstacles, it doesn’t matter what the label is.  Average people allow these things to take sooo much time to overcome.

Winners, on the other hand, have an almost uncanny and superhero-like ability to ‘clear the calculator’ and forge ahead.

 

This is in large part because winners are masters at reframing and they expect there to be obstacles along the way.

 

Both of these are just ways of thinking and that is a skill.  All skills can be learned, so….
