Arnold Said It, So It Must Be Right…

A couple of weeks ago, I watched the new Netflix documentary, Game Changers, about animal protein and such.

 

It was definitely thought provoking, but no matter what you think of the content, Arnold, who was one of the producers of the movie, had this to say about switching to more of a plant based diet:

 

‘Don’t tell someone they can’t eat meat anymore, because first off, people aren’t going to like that (they won’t form a habit around it) and they will reject it with a big F-U.  Simply ask them to see if they go one day per week without animal protein’.

 

Here we have perhaps the greatest fitness icon of all-time with some great wisdom into how habits are formed.

 

Don’t go ALL-IN, it rarely works.  Start to dabble and build a foundation, keeping your approach ‘alive’ as needed.

 

And yes, I think it’s worth the watch, as long as you have an open mind:)

Did the Joker Use Fasting?

A few weeks ago, Suzy Homemaker and I went to see the Joker.

 

I thought it was excellent, Suzy was a bit freaked out by it.

 

One thing that really stood out to me was how lean Joaquin Phoenix got for his role.

 

He was skin and bone.

 

And it got me thinking if he fasted for his role.

 

I don’t know for certain, but I am guessing he did.

 

Not that you are getting ready for a movie role, but fasting can be used in so many different ways for so many different purposes, but most of all, it can be done years on end, which means it’s not a diet.

 

Just something to think about.

‘He’s Pathetic’

Two weeks ago, a troll found his way into one of the comments sections for our Ripped Dads ad.

He made some kind of comment about our guy GL being pathetic and having to ‘diet’.  And then some other guys jumped on him and ironically, the troll started accusing them of being trolls.  Ha!

I normally don’t reply back because it’s a complete waste of energy.  This time, however, I simply asked the question: ‘How is this pathetic?  He has lost 75 pounds and counting and feels great?’ Crickets….

Some people will always look to critique and criticize and others will look for inspiration in every situation.

If GL listened to all the negative chatter from others as he began this journey or heck, even the negative chatter in his own head, he would never have gotten started.

See, even trolls can teach us lessons.
