Fear Attracts Like Energy

Over the past month, I have been reviewing and going over my notes from the book, Conversations with God.  

The book examines energy and fear and such.

One of the 3 laws in the book is that fear attracts like energy.  

 

Huh?  

 

People don’t realize that their thoughts are magnetic and have literal energy frequencies.  

Ever wonder why some people seem to have a black cloud following them around?  

Your thoughts lead to your actions and your words.  The clearest example that I have thought of recently about words having energy is music.  

Notice how your favorite song makes you feel or how angry music can make you angry and change your mood. 

If your dominant thought is one of fear, be mindful of it and then begin to change your inner dialogue.

Can You Look Fear in the Eye?

Two weeks ago, I embarked on the craziest week of my life.  

I am currently making it into a short 20 page book and possibly a documentary at some point in the next year.  

Anyhow, before the week began, I received a text from a friend and client that said, ‘I admire what you are doing, looking fear right in the eye and not flinching….’

That was a jolt of energy that I needed on Sunday the 17th.  

And look, your fears will be different than my fears and this lesson about fear isn’t just about how we opened up Newell Strength with the government’s approval (amazing how it came about). 

The point is, when you feel fear, that usually means you are heading in the right direction.  

The problem is, when you feel it, look it in the eye and then retreat back into your comfort zone, never having gone through the transformational process of going head first into the resistance you feel.

Lessons are everywhere, if you are paying attention.

Discover How to Read Your Own Feedback

A few weeks ago, after a really hard lower body training session, I awoke in the middle of the night with a nasty cramp right up in my groin.

It’s one of the muscles that ties into the hamstrings and helps you to extend the hip.

But that is really besides the point.

It was cramping because I had pushed it and strained it.

Well, here we are, a few weeks later and it’s hampering me.

You know why?

Because, I am still continuing to train it.

Stupid on my part.  I am ignoring my own biofeedback.  What’s that you say? It’s the feedback that your body is always telling you.  This is something that we use a lot within the Panda challenge and we teach within that program because once a person knows what signs to look for, they can make adjustments.

My groin is a very simple example, but it’s no different than someone feeling a lack of energy and a dip in mindset from the way they are eating or dieting.  Most people would just use the scale to dictate protocol even if biofeedback is pointing in another direction.

And yes, I am going to start altering lower body training so this thing can heal up:).

Friday Focus: Where is Your Attention Going?

Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.

 

In life, where our attention goes is everything.  Literally!  Think about it.

 

Where your attention goes, your energy flows and results follow.

 

If you want to improve your health, you need to constantly put your focus on your health.

 

And the best way to redirect your focus and attention is through the questions you are asking yourself.

 

I just did this with Devon the other day….

 

When a situation arises ask yourself: ‘What is my inner dialogue at the moment?’

 

To redirect your attention to you need to realize and catch the runaway train of thoughts that sometimes build such momentum that we don’t realize we actually do have control over them.

Member of the Month: Mike Double V

I remember sitting down with Mike roughly a year ago and listening to why he was a good fit for our Ripped Dads contest.

Yes, Sometimes I’m and Idiot

I am just like you in that not everyone likes me. Yes, that’s the sad truth of the matter.

 

It’s the way life is.

 

Some would even say I am an idiot, but that’s okay, because what other people think of me is none of my business.

 

Yet, I’d say I am an idiot some of the times for a very specific reason….

 

When I try to do more than one thing at a time.  Usually this is work/creation related, but nonetheless, when we try to focus on more than one thing, we burn tremendous energy and rarely get anything done.

Multi-tasking is a MYTH.

 

So, the question you have to ask yourself is; what’s the one thing that you need to wrap up, focus on and complete next?

 

And then stay on that thing until it’s done.

The New Wednesday Recipe Series

We are going to be releasing a few recipes each month on Wednesdays, interspersed with clients stories.

 

For the first one, thanks to Chef Devon, she made:

 

Easy Crockpot Butternut Squash & Quinoa Soup

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 1 small butternut squash
  • 1 can (15.25 ounces) kidney beans
  • 1 can (15 ounces) corn
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) petite diced tomatoes*
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 packet (1.12 ounces) fajita seasoning mix
  • 4 cups of vegetable or chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions:

  1. Peel, seed, and chop the butternut squash into small bite-sized pieces (or buy pre-chopped butternut squash which is what I did to save time).
  2. Rinse and drain the kidney beans and corn.
  3. Lightly grease your slow cooker with nonstick spray (I use a 6-quart crockpot). Add in the quinoa, chopped squash, kidney beans, corn, undrained tomatoes, garlic, salt & pepper to taste, and fajita seasoning packet. (OR try a chili seasoning packet if you enjoy those flavors better).
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and give everything a good stir.
  5. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or until the quinoa is cooked through and the squash is very tender.
  6. At this point you can remove some of the squash and mash it with a potato masher and then put it back in the soup. This is totally optional!  I ended up just mashing them a little bit with my spoon before I dove in which was perfect.
  7. Pour a bowl and enjoy!  You can add any toppings you like or just eat it as is which is so tasty!!!
