Life (141)

Free Fear or Freedom Over Fear?

When I was 7, I had the stark reality of a childhood friend dying.  It was almost too much for me to comprehend and it put me into a hyperfocus on death for the next several years.

But believe it or not, I think that this gave me a big advantage in life.

For one, I live with urgency, because I know life is not infinite, at least this ‘5-sense’ reality isn’t.  Now, I don’t live with urgency in the sense that I am hurried, I live with urgency in that I want to experience a lot and achieve my mission.

Secondly, I have been able to connect the dots with death to my mastery of Mind Mapping and I realize that although fear is a real feeling, I can usually tamp it down until the point of acting in the face of it and not backing down when it wants to look me in the eyes.

The mainstream media sells you ‘free fear’.  They know the brain is hyper focused on all things fear so it drives ratings.  The question is, are you going to choose free fear or freedom over fear?

It’s a matter of focus and attention.

P.S-My new book is finally out on Amazon.  It’s all things fasting, from my point of view.  If you want a world class tutorial and ‘how to’ with my system of fasting, then you pick up a copy of  the book.  And if you like it, please leave a review.  https://www.amazon.com/Panda-Diet-Unconventional-Approach-Lasting/dp/0578687372/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=kyle+newell&qid=1592831921&s=books&sr=1-2

P.P.S-Now that we are taking new clients once again, we are opening the doors for July to 12 new trial members.  This is just what the doctor ordered for you if you’ve been locked in, with little outdoor time, not enough physical activity and not enough fun.  You can apply for a spot at this link and Coach Dana will be reaching out to you.  https://hillsborough.newellstrength.com/jumpstart

Your Heart and Mind Must Align

About 5 weeks ago, I had one of the most amazing weeks of my life.

That was when we opened Newell Strength, despite the lockdown.

Did it make logical sense?  Not necessarily.

But I wasn’t following my brain, I was listening to my heart.  And when you listen to your heart, you cannot go wrong.  When you ignore your heart, you almost always go wrong.

I knew that my decision was based in pureness of heart and therefore I had nothing to fear.

And the results spoke for themselves.

Make sure your mind aligns with your heart, not the other way around.

P.S-We are now accepting trial members once again.  If you’re ready for a change and want to start shaking off the rust, weight and low energy of the past few months of quarantine, then you’ve found your answer.  You can apply for our 30-day trial here and a Coach will reach out to  you.

Most People at 25 and are Buried by 75

A week ago, I heard the same message twice within the span of an hour, which means I was being spoken to by the Universe.

The first message was from some random video on YouTube during my walk and the second was from a written excerpt from a MLK speech.

The gist: If you have a calling at 38, as Dr. King did, and refused to do anything about it, yet you live until you’re 90, you really died at 38.

Life is a gift and with that gift you have gifts that you are supposed to share.

Is it scary?  Yes.  But if you share gifts despite what you think others may think (ego and reputation) and you listen to your gut, then you are truly living.

What have you been holding back on that keeps yanking at your heart string?

Your Path is Your Path

Over the past few months, something has become even more abundantly clear to me than it was prior.

We all have our own lessons and own path to walk in this life.  We are all here to experience life in a different way.

My path is not worse or better than your path.  It’s just different.

This means that we will not agree on a lot of stuff and that’s okay.  If you are here to learn algebra and I am here to learn biology 101, not too much will align.  It’s not supposed to.

Listen and learn from others.  You might get a different point of view to add to your path.

Afterall, the teacher will appear when the student is ready.

P.S-I am taking people for the next Panda Challenge, it begins June 22nd.  Based on the first two challenges, the average inches lost around the waist in just 45 days is 3”!!!! If you are interested in one of the remaining 9 spots, reply to this email with ‘Panda’ in the subject box.

P.P.S-After much consideration, we are pushing our Fat Shredder to September.  We will be able to run it better and people will be ready for it.  We don’t want anyone to miss out.  Details will come out as it gets closer.

Mental Toughness Monday: I Challenge You

A week ago, when I was going for my Monday morning weighted vest walk, I was pondering what to talk about in my Monday video.

Sometimes toughness can be taught and conveyed as force and pushing yourself.  Sometimes that is appropriate.

Then there are times when toughness is simply choosing the path less traveled.

I challenge you this week to have a focal point for your attention when you start getting caught up in the fear and divisiveness that seems to be around every corner during these trying times.

I want that focal point to be something positive, something you have control over, someone you love, something you are grateful for.

How is that toughness?  Because, your thoughts are a habit.  Habits are hard to override, especially thoughts, because our brain is hardwired for the negative, it’s a survival mechanism.

So that’s my challenge to you this week.  Focus on something great in life everytime the fear goblin tries to rear his ugly head.

The Creator of Mind Map: Dax Moy

If you’ve been following the progression of Newell Strength over the years, then you would know the name, Dax Moy.

Dax is the mentor and man that has taught me Mind Map.  I was fortunate enough to be able to interview him for over an hour and man, did he drop some knowledge bombs!

I must warn you though, that the information in this podcast episode is highly valuable and it will change your life forever if you so choose.  Listen at your own risk:)

Up and Down, Chaos and Peace

Two weeks ago began the most amazing and emotional week of my life.

I had made a video to give people hope on a Tuesday night about our choice to open Newell Strength.

Within a few hours it had almost 10K views.

Fox News reached out the next day and it was on.

My intention for opening Newell Strength was more about hope than anything. If was just about opening up for business, the easier thing would have been to stay closed.

Saturday I had the interview on national television which was surreal. Then the rest of the weekend was up and down, not being sure what to expect on Monday afternoon when we opened.

Monday was full of talking with reporters and such during the early part of the day and listening to other people tell me how the scene was unfolding at Newell Strength. I wasn’t planning on going in until [2:30] or so for our 4 PM opening.

Driving in was wild because I had no idea what to expect from all the different things I was hearing.

I was listening to ‘Born in the USA’ by Bruce as I pulled in for parking.

I walked in, noticed there was already a crowd gathering, opened the bay doors and began to play patriotic music.

To be continued tomorrow…..

P.S-By the end of the week I will have a date ready for you for our annual Fat Shredder contest, so stay tuned!!!!

Faith over Fear in the Corona Climate

I recorded today’s episode about a month ago.

It was one of the most passionate ‘rants’ I’ve had on my podcast and it was infused with passion.

It’s all about acting with faith over fear because as I’ve been saying, fear is the real virus to be afraid of.

With faith, you can conquer that.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

You Can Increase Your Mental Toughness By Doing This

Two weekends ago, I was relaxing with Devon, talking about life.

And we got around to talking about next steps and such and I caught her.

You see, so often we want to know steps x, y and zed.  Well, they mean diddly if we don’t first decide.

Deciding means to sever, to cut yourself off from any other possibilities.  Once you decide, you have committed to the first step.

How does this tie into mental toughness? When you decide, you can be sure that goblins, obstacles and all types of resistance are gonna come at you.  They all present opportunities to continue to grow your mental toughness.

Opportunities that you would have missed out on had you not made the initial decision.

Sometimes deciding is the toughest thing you can do.

Think Differently- Kyle

P.S.-If you’d like to work with us and have the best Coaching in the world, before this craziness is behind us, then check out the opportunity below.  The first round of clients are crushing it and they’d be the first to tell you  that it’s the best investment you  could make in yourself, particularly given the current climate…

1- Last week I opened the doors to the second Panda Challenge, which will be starting May 11th.  10 of the 12 spots are already taken and it looks like this will be the trend going forward for this Challenge as it’s one of a kind and dare I say, the most effective ‘Nutrition Challenge’ in the world (mark my words, you heard it here first). If you’d like to find out more info and at least throw your name in the ring for me to decide if you’re a good fit, then go here: https://hillsborough.newellstrength.com/step_1

Discover the Power of Your Relationships

Each day this week I will be bringing one of the five areas of growth to get and learn from this situation.  Today’s topic is about relationships….

In case you didn’t realize it before, it should be pretty obvious that we, as human beings, are social creatures.

When I do Mind Mapping lessons and sessions, I always teach about the mammalian part of the brain.

This part of our brain is wired for connection and bonding.  It is also hyper-sensitive to judgment because of how much we crave to fit in with a tribe or pack.

With all that is going on, many of the relationships that you cherish have been put on hold.  At least in terms of face to face interaction.

I know, we can hop on Zoom or social media, but that is not nearly the same.  Yes, it’s better than nothing, but not the same.

Now, you have plenty of time to focus on those within your 4 walls.  You know, your spouse, your kids, the dogs. Those that mean everything to you but that we are normally too busy to actually give undivided focus to.  Well, NOW is that time.

Where your attention goes, energy flows.  Put the damn phone down and listen and talk and laugh.

Pick up the phone and reach out to someone that you don’t call often enough.  I know for me, this has been a blessing because I now talk to my mom a few times per week whereas in the past I wouldn’t make time for a phone call or I would wait until I heard from her.

Write a letter.  Yes, handwritten.  It’s genuine and has a much different impact than email or text (there are studies that show how the brain actually lights up way differently when someone receives something physical in the mail rather than email).

I just wrote my dad a cursive, one-page letter last week and it was awesome.  I got to tell him things I normally don’t tell him and he was greatly appreciative.  Taking the time to sit down and write and put it in a stamped envelope is one of the greatest investments you can make in any relationship.

Don’t take your friendships for granted again.  EVER. It’s one thing to say that, but it’s another to act it out.

The easiest thing to do when this is all said and done will be to revert back to the norm.  Don’t let it happen.

Relationships are the spice of life, they are what make life worth living.

1- The Fat Shredder is coming!  Realistically it’ll probably start at some point in the backside of May and run until the 4th of July weekend.  Here’s all you have to do for now: start thinking of your teammates. Each team will have at least a member, non-member and one woman (teams of 3).  It’s gonna be epic and just what we all need at that time:)
